Job Title: Order Picker
Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Order Picker to join our team. The primary responsibility is to ride a sit-down forklift and pick orders based on invoice sheets. The role involves locating items, pulling them, and stacking them on a forklift. You will operate a sit-down forklift and reach truck, handle items up to 50lbs, and may also be required to load trailers and pack items for shipping.

Responsibilities

• Operate a sit-down forklift and reach truck.
• Pick orders based on invoice sheets.
• Locate and pull items, then stack them on a forklift.
• Handle items weighing up to 50lbs.
• Load trailers and pack items for shipping.
• Occasionally work in cooler and freezer environments to pick orders.
• Maintain accuracy and attention to detail while picking orders.

Essential Skills

• Experience operating sit-down forklifts.
• Proficiency with pallet jacks, reach trucks, and order pickers.
• Warehouse, material handling, and order picking experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to work in cold temperatures when required.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Competitiveness and self-motivation to achieve the best pick rate.
• Ability to continuously lift 50lbs throughout the shift.

Work Environment

You will be working in a small team of 7-8 people on the warehouse floor. The company mainly distributes commodities like flour, sugar, food coloring, and frosting. The work environment is relaxed with no micromanaging, allowing you to focus on your responsibilities in a supportive and community-oriented atmosphere. The shift starts at 3pm and finishes when all tasks are completed.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hanover, Maryland.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.
