Internship Length: End of April 2025 – End of August 2025; Part time, 20-28 hours a week. The length of the internship and the start and end dates are both negotiable. Interns will be expected to work
during the day, some evenings, and some weekends.
Interns will be based out of CRWC’s office located at 1115 West Avon Road, Rochester Hills, MI 48309.
Pay: This internship is paid - $12/hour
Interns Will Gain: Experience and skills related to: field work including water quality monitoring and
assessment, data collection, management, and analysis; outdoor and environmental education, green
stormwater infrastructure, presentations, public speaking, and more.
Brief Description of Internship: Interns will get hands-on experience collecting and working with data that
pertains to watershed management and aquatic ecology. Field work experience may include but is not limited
to: water quality monitoring and sampling, macroinvertebrate sampling, habitat assessments and inventories,
basic surveying, site assessments, and residential site visits. Interns will also assist with spring environmental
education and stewardship programs (Adopt-A-Stream, Stream Leaders, Keeping It Clean, River Day, Water
Festivals) working with K-12 students and the public. Additional responsibilities will include: data analysis,
equipment maintenance and inventory, macroinvertebrate identification, general office tasks, Area of Concern
related tasks, and working with scientific data. Interns will have opportunities to work in an office setting, at
local events, and in the field with staff and volunteers.
Qualifications/Skills Desired: Interns must be 18 years or older and working towards an undergraduate or
graduate degree in biology, environmental science, ecology, natural resources, or related field. Field
experience and experience using ArcGIS is encouraged; Energetic and positive attitude; Strong work ethic;
Adaptability; Ability to anticipate and solve problems; Time management skills; Reliability; Strong written and
verbal communication skills; Good organization skills; Strong leadership skills; Ability to work with the public
and students; Ability to work both independently and cooperatively.
