Video Editor - Diffusion Studios Are you an experienced video and content editor? Would you love to support a global team? About our Team Our Diffusion Studios team’s mission is to prepare medical students to become the best clinicians possible. We create customer content and licensing material for internal and external partners. About the Role As a Video Editor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and effectiveness of our video content. Responsibilities Review approved storyboards and scripts to ensure the appropriate image assets and audio files have been provided by the illustrator(s) and narrator(s). Ensure information for the credit roll and any call-to-action and/or reference frames has been entered properly, logos for the bumpers have been obtained, as appropriate. Create video files using the approved image assets, audio files, and guidance provided by clients ensuring the audio and visual components are properly aligned and the files are free of error (static, playback issues, etc.). Sourcing, editing, and incorporating pre-existing video footage to create compelling and engaging videos, as directed by clients. Maintain a bumper style guide for each client to ensure consistency between related deliverables. Assign assistant video editors to projects as needed, and ensure they have access to the appropriate bumper style guides. Review notes and edits shared by internal and external stakeholders and incorporate or suggest alternatives to these changes as appropriate. Participate actively in calls with internal and external stakeholders at all levels and communicate professionally at all times. Recommend and use tools that could increase efficiency, quality of deliverables, and client satisfaction. Complete professional development training to remain up to date with industry best practices and to develop skills in advanced and/or emerging mediums (e.g., 3D, virtual/augmented reality). Communicate with the direct manager about changes to availability, ability to complete an assignment, and resource needs as projects are assigned to ensure they can be completed on time and on budget. Serve as an ambassador of the Elsevier and RELX brands by supporting the organization’s vision, mission, and values in all internal/external interactions. Assist with other tasks as assigned. Requirements Post-secondary education in video editing or commensurate experience in content and video editing. Knowledge of current industry standards in the field and stay up to date in new standards and developments. Exceptional organization and communication skills. Able to create and deliver files for review that meet stated specifications, are relatively free of error, and are of high quality. Able to meet/exceed production goals by ensuring all project files are drafted, edited, and submitted to appropriate stakeholders within the given time frame. Able to maintain organized video project files in a shared location to enable updates to be made with ease and to allow for the sharing of files between contributors and other internal/external stakeholders, as needed. Able to work both collaboratively and independently in a remote environment. Able to meet expected deadlines.
