Summary
This position is responsible for taking excellent care of all vineyard property and equipment. The daily completion of all tasks to ensure the vineyard is well-maintained and up to company standards by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties
1. Takes excellent care of all vineyard property and ensures all vineyard maintenance is completed while maintaining a safe, clean, and quality-based approach. Reports any equipment or vineyard damage immediately.
2. Operates all equipment at a high skill level and completes general maintenance on equipment to ensure equipment is in good working condition and up to company standards.
3. Provides leadership to full-time crews and contractors.

Job Duties
•  Operates a forklift to assist with loading harvest bins, trellis materials and other necessary tasks.
•  Uses approved vendor accounts to purchase supplies for the vineyard and the ranch.
•  Hauls equipment around from vineyard to vineyard using a truck and trailer.
•  Works with an awareness of all personnel, visitors, and contractors in a dynamic winery operation.
•  Operates a tractor, pickup and UTV to complete various tasks around the vineyard and farm.
•  Operates, installs, and performs repairs on irrigation system.
•  Installs trellis throughout the vineyard by following the layout and performs maintenance as needed.
•  Performs highly skilled hand labor and general labor tasks around the vineyard and the farm.
•  Responsible for applying pesticides around the vineyard. Wears appropriate PPE as required.
•  Performs harvest activities such as bin trailers, operates harvest machine, operates gondola, fruit hauling and other general activities, including forklift.
•  Sets up and operates special equipment.
•  Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance.
•  This position may require flexibility in hours and days worked and include some weekends or evenings.
•  Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
•  Respectfully takes direction from supervisor.
•  Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
High school diploma or (GED); or three to five year(s) related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a willingness to learn quickly by on the job training and have good written and verbal communication skills. Must have the ability to work unsupervised and be self-motivated. Must have knowledge of vineyard trellis, vineyard layout, irrigation operations, and agricultural activities. Must have experience working with basic tractor and equipment operation.

Certificates, Licenses and/or Registrations
This position requires a valid Driver’s License and insurance. A forklift certification, Oregon Farm CDL endorsement and Oregon Private Pesticide Applicators License is also required.

Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Computer Skills
Has minimal computer skills as necessary to operate a computer. Can log-on into a computer system, navigate in windows, perform simple tasks within applications and enter information into a database.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The employee is occasionally required to use hands and fingers to type or dial, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
