Job Description

Description

Are you looking for a career where you can nurture a positive working environment and help achieve better employee relations? Are you flexible, proactive, easy to approach, like ‘figuring things out’ and have a sense of humor? If so, you’ve come to the right place!

Wood Rodgers, a leading California-based engineering consulting firm with a growing office in Las Vegas, NV is hiring a senior project engineer to join our Land Development team. We are seeking someone that enjoys a variety of civil engineering projects performed on behalf of private and public sector clients. Under limited direction, a Senior Engineer performs difficult and complex engineering tasks and acts as a supervisor to a small group of engineers and/or technical support staff. A senior engineer may serve as a project manager on a single major, or several minor, engineering project(s).

While there is no typical day when you are managing projects and employees, there are a few things you can count on:

  • Preparation of engineering analysis, designs, and calculations for private improvements and public works projects.
  • Preparation of construction plans, construction submittal reviews, Requests for Information (RFI), specifications, and cost estimates (PS&E).
  • Review development plans for compliance with adopted engineering standards and practices.
  • Manage resources efficiently and address any delays or obstacles that may arise during the project life cycle.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers, contractors, and other professionals throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Supervise technical support staff on as-needed basis. Will assist in managing budget and workload. The ability to eventually take on budget management and invoicing responsibilities would be a plus.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering required.
  • 8+ years minimum experience required performing the essential duties listed above.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Civil Engineering principles, practices, and methods.
  • Proficiency using AutoCAD, including Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • P.E. License in NV Required.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather, organize and analyze engineering data and make comprehensive reports.
  • Efficiently manage a variety of engineering functions.
  • Ability to work as a member of an engineering team.
  • Demonstrated ability to relate effectively with those contacted in the course of work; communicate effectively both orally in and in writing.
How we elevate your game

Joining Wood Rodgers comes with perks to support you in your personal and professional journey.

  •   A Unique Culture : An engineering firm that doesn’t feel like one. We are inventors that ask, “why not?” with leadership that empowers employees to grow, challenge convention, and develop creative solutions. We throw big parties, get random days off, and constantly are shown how the company reinvests in our employees rather than corporate bottom-lines. These all help build a great culture, but at the core are great people; people who want to learn, teach, help, and collaborate.
  • Teamwork : experience what being a part of the Wood Rodgers family feels like. Be inspired by your leaders, be encouraged and cheered on by your teammates to live a big life, personally and professionally while you work with us. Visit our website to get a feel or check us out on social media @woodrodgersinc!
  • Learning + Development : take on leadership development programs and goal setting to create big possibilities for your career and life. Develop within the company; be mentored and grow to your potential as a leader from the minute you’re hired.

The expected salary will likely fall within the mid-point of the range. Please note that this range does not account for geographic differences and may vary above or below the listed range. Any offer will consider various factors, including experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, and training. Base pay is one component of the comprehensive compensation package provided by Wood Rodgers.
