We need opticians, optical technicians, and optometrists to join our team serving this mountainous people.
You will run a 10-month apprenticeship programme for optometrists (5 mornings per week) covering optics, lens technology, material science, workshop, sales, and customer care, as well as supervise the optical store.
The necessary professional environment and infrastructure are in place, along with a curriculum and teaching materials.
You will embrace the team's vision, working, praying, and having fellowship together with those of other nationalities.
You have completed formal studies as an optician or optometrist, or an optical technician. Ideally, you have some years of experience in this field.
You're able and willing to work with basic equipment as well as advanced, and you enjoy teaching good theory and practice.
You are fluent in English but are willing to give time to learn the local language and culture.
WEC serves communities across the Middle East and has had teams working in some countries for decades.
WEC teams are involved in a variety of ministries, using tent-making, medical work, and missional business to do effective and culturally appropriate outreach leading to church planting. We also serve alongside other Christian agencies and with the local church where it exists.
