Job Description:

As the Intern, Software Engineering, you will have the opportunity to contribute to various projects, collaborate with experienced engineers, and gain hands-on experience in software development. You will work closely with our development team to understand product requirements, develop quality code, execute tests, and support product deployment. This internship will provide valuable hands-on experience in software development & testing methodologies, tools, and techniques.

This is a 10-week internship position with the Ventas during the summer of 2025.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain software applications.
  • Assist in implementing new features and functionalities according to project requirements.
  • Design and develop test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on project requirements.
  • Execute manual and automated tests to identify software defects and ensure product quality.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards.
  • Participate in daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning, and review sessions with the development team.
  • Debug and troubleshoot software issues and provide timely resolutions.
  • Learn and apply best practices in software engineering, including version control, testing, and deployment.
  • Contribute to brainstorming sessions and provide innovative ideas to solve technical challenges.
  • Keep abreast of emerging technologies and trends in software development.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a four-year accredited college or university, pursuing a relevant course of study (Computer Science or Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, etc.), and expected to graduate in 2026
  • Programming skills in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, etc.
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies and practices.
  • Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design principles.
  • Understanding of software testing concepts, methodologies, and techniques.
  • Problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Knowledge and understanding of testing tools such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar is a plus
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and a proactive attitude towards tackling challenges.
