Position: Interior Designer

Location: Hybrid in Chicago, IL; 2 days remote and 3 days on site at Willis Tower

Salary: $100-125k

Duration: 6 month contract to permanent hire

Start Date: 4/21/25

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design and/or Architecture
• 5+ years of relevant experience within interior design
• Experience in facility design, space planning and programming, development of standards, and documentation
• Proficiency in creating and delivering design presentations, with strong collaboration, problem solving, and clear communication skills
• Knowledge of construction codes and accessibility regulations
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Microsoft Suite
• Ability to be in the office up to three days per week (Willis Tower, Chicago, IL)

Pluses

• NCIDQ certification preferred
• Airport Experience

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement space planning, programming, and utilization space calculations for client-owned or managed facilities across its network.
• Collaborate with internal and external consultants to develop strategically focused design plans for various project types, including enhancements to operational support areas, public-facing spaces, and the implementation of new initiatives.
• Review and provide feedback on architectural and engineering plans submitted by external designers and consultants to ensure alignment with project requirements, industry standards, and design intent.
• Collaborate with client's Corporate Real Estate project managers to develop and deliver conceptual design plans and supporting documentation for executive and financial review and approval.
• Lead the development and improvement of client Space Guidelines in collaboration with the design team, including FF&E, material selection and application, and furniture layout.
• Provide design expertise for new and evolving initiatives to enhance client's built environments.
• Lead external design professionals contracted by client and act as a liaison between design teams and United stakeholders.
• Effectively manage time and workload, prioritizing tasks based on leadership guidance.
