Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fence Builder to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of fences for both residential and commercial properties. The Fence Builder will be expected to deliver high-quality craftsmanship, ensuring that all projects meet safety standards and are completed on time. The candidate will be required to work with a variety of materials, including wood, vinyl, chain link, and wrought iron.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fence Installation: Measure and lay out fence lines; install posts, rails, and fencing materials for residential and commercial properties.
• Material Handling: Safely handle and transport fencing materials, tools, and equipment to job sites.
• Cutting and Fitting: Accurately cut and fit fencing materials to meet the specifications and dimensions of each project.
• Repair and Maintenance: Assess and repair existing fences, including replacing posts, sections, and gates as needed.
• Site Preparation: Clear and prepare the worksite, including digging post holes, leveling ground, and ensuring proper alignment of fence sections.
• Customer Service: Communicate effectively with customers to understand their needs, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction with the finished product.
• Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gear at all times.
• Equipment Operation: Operate tools and machinery such as post-hole diggers, drills, saws, and cement mixers.
• Work in Various Weather Conditions: Perform tasks outdoors in various weather conditions, ensuring project deadlines are met regardless of weather-related challenges.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in fence installation, construction, or related trade.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints or project plans.
• Strong knowledge of different types of fencing materials (wood, vinyl, chain link, wrought iron).
• Excellent physical stamina and manual dexterity to perform hands-on work.
• Basic knowledge of power tools and hand tools.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Effective communication skills to interact with clients and team members.
• Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues that arise during installation or repair.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites.
• Ability to work in diverse environments, including residential and commercial settings.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with both residential and commercial fencing projects.
• Knowledge of local building codes and zoning regulations.
• Certification in construction safety (OSHA, etc.) is a plus.
• Ability to operate heavy machinery (e.g., skid steers, augers) is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
• Ability to work outdoors in various environmental conditions (heat, cold, rain).

Working Conditions:

• Work is typically performed outdoors at various residential and commercial job sites.
• May require early morning starts and working overtime during peak seasons.
• Must wear appropriate safety gear, including hard hats, gloves, and protective eyewear.
