JOB STATUS: UNTIL FILLED

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a high school diploma or its equivalency and possess at least 2 years as a lead technician on the installation and servicing of security systems, intercom systems, and communications radios. International Society of Certified Electronics Technicians (ISCET) certification or other electronic or security certifications preferred. Knowledge of access control and video surveillance systems, both hardware and software are a must. Knowledge of IP camera hardware and software for video monitoring is expected. Experience in managing remote video archival in an enterprise is desirable. Experience in training staff members to review video footage and confirm archived data availability; must be customer service oriented. Must be approachable and possess a good work ethic. Must be familiar with network access points and basic IP configuration schemes for cameras. Knowledge of blue prints and schematic reading is expected to participate in internal project coordination. Must be familiar with writing standard operating procedures and technical documents. Troubleshooting of new and existing system installations to facilitate proper functionality and continued uptime. Knowledge of documentation of installation issues/actions/resolutions via service desk system. Association with the Department of Criminal Justice Service (DCJS) is desired. Responds to urgent or emergency situations as required.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS: Installs and services security systems. Facilitates repairs and installations for intercom systems. Allocates and retrieves communications radios. Maintains inventory for all associated devices. Supports electronic access control and video surveillance systems, both hardware and software. Installs and maintains camera hardware and software for video monitoring. Facilitates vendor repair and replacement of defective parts as needed. Performs smaller scale hardware installations and serves as a vendor coordinator for larger projects. Assists in training staff members to review video footage and confirm archived data availability; must be customer service oriented. Must read blue prints and schematic and is expected to participate in internal project coordination for the areas of security, radios, and intercom systems. Completion of some wiring, connections, and equipment installations for projects will be needed while other project may require vendor coordination and selection. Troubleshooting of new and existing security system installations (video and electronic access) to facilitate proper functionality and continued uptime. Expected to complete documentation of installation issues/actions/resolutions via service desk system. Candidate is expected to contribute to update/creation of standard operating procedures for security systems, intercom systems and radio communication selection of equipment and vendor comparative analysis. Maintains current inventory of all radio allocations. Distributes, sends for repair and keeps current inventory of all radio allocations. Responds to urgent or emergency situations as required (historically minimal requirement). Performs other duties as assigned.

GENERAL DEFINITION AND CONDITIONS OF WORK: Performs technical work pertaining to the installation, maintenance and repair of video, audio visual and other electronic related equipment and components; performs related electronic work as required. This is medium work requiring the exertion of 50 lbs of force occasionally, up to 20 lbs of force frequently, and up to 10 lbs of force constantly to move objects; work requires climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for depth perception, color perception, preparing and analyzing written instruction, visual inspection involving small defects and /or small parts, use of measuring devices, assembly or fabrication of parts at or within arm's length, operation of motor vehicles or equipment, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general and activities; the worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, hazards and atmospheric conditions.
