The ability to work independently, be self motivated, and take ownership of a project is critical.  Position Overview We're looking for a truly talented, creative problem solver.  The ideal candidate is a hands-on designer with a passion for interior design, manufacturing, and user experience . This role will involve designing new product lines, prototyping, refining existing designs, and working with manufacturers to bring high-quality, functional, and beautiful hardware from concept to production. You will first learn how we currently do this, and then will be expected to help us up our game. There’s nowhere to hide in a small company, which means your work will have a high impact . You’d have an opportunity to directly impact the culture and future of the company. Responsibilities Research and design new home hardware products (drawer pulls, knobs, brackets, etc.). Develop high-fidelity prototypes using our in-house 3D printers and machine shop. Work with manufacturers and engineers to refine designs for mass production. Utilize CAD software (Onshape) to create models and technical drawings.  Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate user-centered design principles into new products. Assist in packaging, branding, and product visualization for marketing and sales purposes. Manage up. As a small startup, we expect employees to take ownership of their projects and actively push them forward. You will be given everything you need to succeed, but you will need to help us determine what that is. Requirements Holds a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Design, Product Design, or similar degree, or will complete one soon, or can demonstrate equivalent ability. Strong skills in 3D modeling, prototyping, and material selection .  Specifically, experience with Onshape solid modeling or other similar software such as Solidworks, Fusion360, Inventor, etc. and a willingness to learn Onshape. The position requires a high level of proficiency in Onshape. Familiarity with CNC machining, casting, and other manufacturing processes . Ability to collaborate with a small team while taking initiative and ownership of projects.
