GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Assistive Technology Instructor is responsible for the successful training of all AT clients, identifying and evaluating new AT tools for ETLB, and partnering with all other areas to identify and facilitate new offerings as needed. Receiving referrals from the Client Services Case Manager and the TWC Director, the AT Instructor performs all duties relevant to clients and employees accomplishing their AT goals including but not limited to assessments, guidance, planning, training, overall case management, and follow up.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES Assess and instruct clients on variety of assistive technology including but not limited to audio, visual, Braille and cellular devices Evaluate clients including recommendations on the use of assistive technology in the following areas: education, home management, employment, travel, leisure Prepare and maintain lesson plans, check lists, and homework assignments individualized per client Maintains accurate, timely documentation in Salesforce Accurately conducts and documents contract training/evaluations per contractor specifications, including TWS. Maintain frequent communication with AT clients to monitor progress and obtain feedback Prepare regular or special reports as requested by manager Maintain up to date training manuals and procedures Emboss braille material for others as needed Review accessibility concerns as needed Serve as co-instructor for group training classes when needed Keep current on cutting edge technology for the blind and visually impaired Preform other duties as assigned SKILLS Effective teaching skills Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills Strong computer, MOS and assistive technology skills, including speech, large print, Braille, note taking devices, cellular, and smart devices. Ability to adapt and recommend training to meet the needs of all learners at all levels. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and flexibility Demonstrate ability to solve problems, analyze data, and suggest appropriate solutions. Innate desire to help others succeed while holding them accountable. Integrity, accountability, positive attitude, and mission-driven Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instruction. Continual professional growth including but not limited to: Training, relevant classes, certifications, research, webinars and/or conferences. Exhibits a mindset of excellence. Communicates respectfully at all times. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to type 30 wpm at a minimum. Must be able to read Braille at 10 wpm. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Individual must be able to sit for long periods of time, reach, stoop, and lift/hold common AT devices. Hearing should be correctable to easily perform all tasks. Reasonable accommodations will be made.
